AirPods Pro 2022, six news for those who switch to the new model. Second-generation 2022 AirPods Pro will arrive to users starting Friday, September 23. For those who still use first generation AirPods Pro or older AirPods models it might be interesting to really understand what features would justify the upgrade. Here are the six new features for those upgrading to the recently presented model.

iPhone 14: How to enable the new on and off sounds?

ANC improved

As macrumors points out, the new AirPods Pro now feature up to two times better active noise cancellation. The improvement will result in less ambient noise perceived by the user when listening to music, thanks to enhanced microphones, a new driver and improved algorithms.

Richer bass

The new AirPods Pro feature a custom driver and amplifier that work with the Apple H2 chip to deliver low distortion, deeper bass, and crisp, clear high notes for music, video, and more. The H2 chip also powers a new algorithm that processes sound in real time faster, customizing it to your ears for high fidelity sound.

Adaptive transparency mode

In addition to active noise cancellation, AirPods Pro feature Transparency mode, which uses outward-facing microphones to allow the user to hear what’s going on around them. Second-generation AirPods Pro get even better with the new adaptive transparency mode, which uses built-in microphones to minimize loud noises, such as sirens and power tools, while letting you hear other sounds. The new AirPods Pro can reduce noise by intervening 48,000 times per second, Apple said.

Better in-ear detection

The first generation AirPods Pro are equipped with optical IR sensors to detect when a user is wearing the earbuds. As is already the case in the third generation AirPods, the new AirPods Pro 2022 are equipped with skin sensing sensors for in-ear sensing.

Longer battery life

Second-generation AirPods Pro 2022 get up to six hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation enabled, two and a half hours longer than the original AirPods Pro. With the new MagSafe charging case, the new AirPods can get up to 30 hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation, six hours longer than before.

AirPods Pro 2022 Charging Case

The new AirPods Pro 2022 come with a redesigned MagSafe charging case that now also features a built-in speaker for Find My, the Apple Where’s function to track lost devices, support for precision tracking and a notch on the side to attach a lanyard for easy carrying. Starting with this model, users can now charge the MagSafe Charging Case using an Apple Watch charger.
