A key factor in the improved gaming performance on Macs is the transition from Intel processors to Apple’s own chips. These Apple Silicon processors, including the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max, offer advanced performance-per-watt and feature gaming-centric technologies like mesh shading and hardware-accelerated ray tracing. This shift has notably enhanced rendering speeds, benefiting AAA games significantly.

Keppel emphasized that all Macs equipped with Apple Silicon chips are now capable of beautifully running AAA games, marking a significant shift in Appleā€™s mainstream systems. The introduction of the M1, M2, and the latest M3 chips has brought a substantial upgrade in graphics performance.

Another advantage of Apple Silicon is its shared hardware architecture technologies with the iPhone and iPad, simplifying the development process for game creators.
