Apple is working on a watch-switching strap for the Apple Watch

Apple is working on a watch-switching strap for the Apple Watch. The development of straps is evidenced by patent US 11611372, which was recently received by the company. According to him, the strap contains an NFC chip in the area of the locking mechanism.

USB-C AirPods Pro are coming this year

When connected, this chip will transmit strap data to the watch. This data can trigger entire scripts like changing watch faces, opening certain apps, and setting an exclusive display theme. It is very convenient when you have several straps of radically different colors, as well as watch faces created for each of them.

In addition, Apple can also notify the user that he is using some kind of left strap. Like, it was made by an unauthorized company, so be careful. This decision would look strange, since for almost eight years the company has been producing watches without NFC in straps, and why not use one of them, since the dimensions allow.

But here it is also worth paying attention that this is only a patent. And not the fact that Apple implements it. True, cases with an NFC tag that gives the iPhone color data have been on sale for a couple of years, so nothing prevents the company from developing this theme for watches as well.
