With a change in the type of matrix, the diagonal will also change – for Air on M2 it is 13.6 inches, and it will be 13.4. That is, the diagonal will become smaller by about 5 mm. What caused the change is not clear. Apparently, a matrix of this size will be cheaper and easier to manufacture.

Mr. Yang did not say exactly when this MacBook will be released. However, according to earlier insiders, such a model should be released as early as 2024.

At the same time, the MacBook Pro will also receive OLED displays. But that won’t happen until 2026. Then, according to the insider, the necessary production capacities will be accumulated. And before that, Apple will be riveting OLED displays on the iPad Pro with might and main. We are also looking forward to it next year. Most likely, Samsung Display will become the main supplier of OLED panels.

By the way, this year the MacBook Air with a 15-inch screen should be released. It will completely repeat the current model on the M2, except for the size, diagonal and resolution of the display, as well as the speakers.
