How to install WatchOS 8 Public Beta. Following the public release of iOS 15 and macOS 12, watchOS 8 Public beta has been released.

The first public beta of watchOS 8 is out for Apple Watch owners. All interested owners of Apple brand smartwatches can install this version for testing. To do this, you need to register on the site and become participants in the Apple testing program.

With the release of watchOS 8 this fall, Apple will no longer support Apple Watch versions 1 and 2. This means that only watchOS 6 will be available for these models. And watchOS 8 will support:

  • Watch Series 7 (after release)

WatchOS 8 beta is now available to everyone

To install the watch OS 8 beta (public), you need the following:

  • Apple Watch Series 3 or newer
  • iPhone 6s or newer with iOS 15 beta

How to install the watch OS 8 public beta

  1. Make sure your iPhone is running the latest iOS 15 public beta. For watch OS 8, this is the iOS 15 public beta.

  3. Sign in with your Apple ID.
  4. In the list of operating systems, select watchOS on the right.
  5. Under the first step, click the button to download the watchOS 8 beta profile. Follow the instructions to install the profile.
  6. If it doesn’t automatically, open the Watch app and choose General> Profiles to install the downloaded profile. Restart your Apple Watch and possibly iPhone.
  7. On iPhone, go back to the Watch app and tap General> Software Update.
  8. The most recent beta version will appear on the screen. Click Download and Install to install the beta.

It should be noted right away that it is impossible to downgrade the Apple Watch version. When the final public watchOS beta is available, you can download it as usual.
