For the first time since its launch, waiting times and availability of the iPhone 14 Pro have improved. Until Christmas, demand for the iPhone 14 Pro was sustained and higher than the quantity of units produced, but the situation has already been improving since December.
Apple fails to launch classical music service in 2022
In the very last days of 2022, in China’s largest iPhone production plant in Zhengzhou, output levels returned to around 70% of total capacity, while after Christmas and with the winter holidays drawing to a close, demand for iPhone 14 Pro.
The combination of the two tenencies is revealed in a JP Morgan report reported by the Wall Street Journal. Both in the USA and in China, Apple’s two main markets, the iPhone 14 Pro is indicated for delivery within one or two weeks of the order on the Apple Store online, the same timing also for those buying in Italy. For some combinations of model, color and storage capacity, some units can even be found immediately available in some Apple Stores and retail stores, including Amazon.
We recall that in mid-November the shipping and waiting times indicated the arrival of the iPhone 14 Pro after the Christmas holidays, this was due to the blockages due to Covid and problems that emerged in the factory city of Zhengzhou.
But even if Apple and Foxconn are catching up, it may be too early to celebrate: TrendForce analysts have trimmed forecasts for total iPhone shipments from 56 million in Q1 2023 to 47 million units, a number that would mark a decline of more than 20% over the same quarter last year.
Foxconn is trying to keep the workers until March by offering an additional bonus equal to one month’s wages, while it seems that Apple is studying an alternative strategy for the iPhone 15 range after the less than expected success of the iPhone 14 Plus.
