iPhone SE 4, is it really all over?

iPhone SE 4, is it really all over? Apple has postponed or even canceled mass production of the iPhone SE 4, at least according to reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

iPhone 14 compensates for the global decline in smartphones

In a series of tweets, Kuo said Apple will delay or scrap the 4th-generation iPhone SE due to consistently lower-than-expected shipments for mid-range smartphones like the iPhone SE 3, iPhone 13 mini, and iPhone 13 mini. iPhone 14 Plus.

Kuo added that the full-screen design Apple has in mind for the iPhone SE 4 will require higher costs and retail prices, so Apple may need to reconsider product positioning and return on investment for this model. Furthermore, reducing development costs will help Apple overcome the “challenges of the global economic recession expected in 2023”, at least according to Kuo.

In the past, several leakers have confirmed that Apple is working on a new version of the iPhone SE, for a launch expected between 2023 and 2024. The fourth generation model should resume the design of the iPhone XR, without the home button and with Touch ID integrated into the power button.

The iPhone SE 4 should then have a 6.1-inch LCD or OLED screen, along with a notch at the top very similar to that of the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus.

Looking at the cold data, we know that sales of Apple’s “budget” models have never gone as the company expected. We have seen it with the iPhone mini, but also with the more recent iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, with the majority of users preferring the more expensive Pro versions.

iPhone SE had its niche, made up of users who wanted a smaller iPhone and who may still prefer the classic Home button. iPhone SE 4 would be much more similar to the iPhone 14, but with some limitations.

What do you think of this possible cancellation?
