Prior to this change of course, several leakers shared the information that Apple intends to abandon its plans to release a new iPhone SE in 2024. Today, Kuo said that the new iPhone SE will be there and will be similar to the iPhone 14 standard, with a 6.1-inch OLED display and slimmer bezels. The current iPhone SE features a 4.7-inch LCD display with thicker bezels.

The new iPhone SE will also feature Apple’s in-house designed 5G modem, with connectivity limited to the sub-6GHz bands of 5G. The current iPhone SE already supports 5G, but uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X57 chip.

Kuo didn’t indicate when the new iPhone SE will be released, but it will likely be available in March 2024 or later. The current iPhone SE was released in March 2022 and is the latest Apple smartphone with a Home button and Touch ID. The next iPhone SE should integrate Face ID.
