Which Apple devices are discontinued in 2022?

Users must have the latest version of iOS 16.1 installed to use the feature. At launch, SOS Emergency via Satellite is available in the United States and Canada, with additional countries arriving in December. For the first two years, Emergency SOS via Satellite will be free to customers, after which Apple may charge an as-yet undefined cost.

The iPhone 14’s emergency satellite connection allows only short, essentially predefined text messages, including location coordinates, to be sent to rescue centres.
