It seems that while all Apple Watch models with watchOS 10.1 can be affected, it’s not a universal problem, impacting only a fraction of users.

Distressed users have taken to social media to share their experiences. One individual mentioned that their Apple Watch Series 9 depleted from full charge to zero in a mere three hours. Another observed a 25% battery reduction in their Apple Watch Series 7 within half an hour.

Simultaneously, users are facing challenges charging their devices, attributing it to potential overheating. Some receive a notification in the Settings app stating, “Charging paused due to high Apple Watch temperature.” Surprisingly, for a few, the battery percentage continues its decline even when connected to a charger.
