iPhone 15, production in August, Pro Max will cost more. Two good news for Apple, one less pleasant for users: iPhone 15 production orders are higher than the already supported iPhone 14 and the price of iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to increase compared to the current iPhone 14 Pro max.

This time it is not a leaker who anticipates Apple’s moves, but Jeff Pu of Haitong Intl Research, an analyst who has demonstrated good reliability with his forecasts over the years. In its latest report from 9to5Mac, it indicates that production of the iPhone 15 will begin in August, in line with the timing of previous releases.
According to information captured by the Apple supply chain and based on analyst estimates, Apple should arrive as a manufacturer about 84 million units in the second half of this year. The total, if achieved, constitutes a 12% increase over Phone 14 orders in 2022. This means Apple expects strong demand for this year’s models.
iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the first different from the Pro
The same report also indicates the price increase of the Phone 15 Pro Max which in the USA starts at €1,099 (taxes excluded), while in Italy it starts at €1,489, VAT included.
Unfortunately, the analyst does not specify whether the price increase will be global, or if instead it will only concern the USA where prices have not already been increased with the iPhone 12 series, as has happened in Italy and in various other countries.
But for the first time this year and in the history of the iPhone family, the iPhone 15 Pro Max model will offer exclusive specifications and functions not present in the Pro model. Up to now, in fact, the two terminals have been identical in all respects, with the only difference in screen size and battery.
In fact, it has long been expected that only the iPhone 15 Pro Max will have the periscopic zoom lens and also improved camera sensors built on three layers. Thanks to the first, the standard and limited 2-3X zoom seen so far on the iPhone will be able to reach 6X, while the three-layer sensor will offer better images.
Analysts are far-sighted and the same report also talks about the iPhone 16: Apple will use metal-element technology for the proximity sensor, a solution that could significantly reduce the size of the Face ID sensor in future iterations of the iPhone. As already emerged from previous advances, also according to Jeff Pu the iPhone 16 will be gilded with the new Wi-Fi 7 standard.
