Ming-Chi Kuo also weighs in on complaints about iPhone 15 Pro overheating issues.

Kuo says the overheating is not related to TSMC’s 3-nanometer node used for the A17 Prom chip, but could be caused by the thermal system design that allowed Apple to reduce the weight of the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ models. Kuo says the small heat dissipation area and titanium chassis negatively affected the devices’ thermal efficiency.

Apple is expected to fix the thermal issues via software updates, but the improvements will be limited unless the company plans to reduce processor performance. Kuo believes that if Apple is unable to adequately resolve the issue, sales of the iPhone 15 Pro could be negatively affected in the coming months.

Several users have reported that the iPhone 15 Pro overheats frequently, especially when the processor starts working more assiduously. To cool the iPhone, the processor is limited via software.

These are mostly extreme cases of use, which rarely occur in normal and daily use, furthermore the reports are very inconsistent with each other.
